Collagen

Collagen replacement is a "no downtime" solution to wrinkles. It is also used for lip enhancement and to fill acne scars or other contour irregularities of the face. Collagen has been used safely for two decades and in over one million procedures.

Remedy

Collagen is injected just beneath the skin in the dermal layer to result in more fullness.

Result

The Collagen is a soft tissue filler that fills in or ‘plumps up’ wrinkles, scarring, or other areas such as the lips.

Number of Treatments Needed

A skin test is required 4 weeks prior to treatment to ensure there are no allergies present if Zyderm or Zyplast are to be used. No skin test is needed for Cosmoderm or Cosmoplast.

Treatment Interval

Collagen does not last forever and may require repeated treatments every 3-4 months.

Treatment Time

The average treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes, depending on the number of areas that require treatment.

Recovery Time

30 minutes to a few hours. Some swelling and redness at the treatment site may occur. This usually fades in a matter of hours.
