One of the latest advancements in cosmetic plastic surgery is the introduction of barbed suture or Contour threads for tightening specific areas of the face with no incisions. The thread is introduced through small needle points in the hairline or posterior neck and lifts the treated area. With the procedure being minimally detectable and very little down time, the threadlift is gaining in popularity.

The threadlift is performed under local or IV sedation in under an hour. The Contour threads are FDA approved and have a unique patented design that consists of clear polypropylene suture that are placed in the soft tissues of the face to lift specific areas. Lunchtime Facelift?

This procedure is so minimally invasive that it has been advertised as a “Lunchtime facelift” in some media. However, this term is misleading as the time needed to achieve the desired look is several days and you will require tape over the skin for some time after the procedure to support the suture as the tissues heal.
